                <span class="description"><p>At the mouth of the Yodo River on Osaka Bay lies the charming city of Osaka. In the center of the city a 50-story residential tower will be built. Studio Piet Boon was asked to design the interior of all public areas, such as the entrance lobby and art gallery, as well as  exclusive areas such as the boardroom, gym, sky lobby with bar, and two multifunctional, communal areas. The interior design also includes a residential showflat. With this showflat, the future residents may experience the charm and possibilities of the luxury apartments. </p>

                <span class="description"><p>We chose to give it the Dutch name “Oosten”, which means “east” which also refers to New York’s Dutch roots. Offering 216 high-end luxury homes varying from luxurious studios to extraordinary townhouses, Oosten is unique in its varied typology of building units. These units combine to form not only a greater building but the fabric of a neighborhood. Our interior design strives to reach across these boarders of spaces to provide a consistent design aesthetic that carries through space and time.</p>

- [A layered dike house](https://pietboon.com/private-projects/a-layered-dike-house/): Built into the slope of the dike, the house first reveals itself from the street-facing side, where two levels suggest a compact volume. Only later, when moving around the property, a third level becomes visible: the garden-level basement, entirely hidden from view at the front. This contrast between the higher front and lower rear formed an important starting point for the redesign of both exterior and interior.

- [Canal House Amsterdam](https://pietboon.com/private-projects/canal-house-amsterdam/): Studio Piet Boon was tasked with the interior design of a private intimate residence along one of the most charming canals in Amsterdam. For this interior design project we were given carte blanche. Keeping with the distinct 17th century architecture, no alterations were made to exterior home design or the existing interior of the building. Redefining and repositioning spaces according to the wishes and lifestyle of the client, we created a harmonious effortless flow of generously proportioned and light filled living spaces.

- [Dutch Floating Home](https://pietboon.com/private-projects/dutch-floating-home/): Moored in a beautiful and tranquil spot in a typically Dutch landscape, lies this houseboat that is surrounded by open water from three sides. Tasked with its design in 2010, the client brief was to design a floating home with a simple ambiance and minimalist look that would seamlessly blend in with the environment. With that in mind, we chose to design a striking “jewel box”, finished in black-stained red cedar. Despite strict building regulations dictating its height, we were able to realize two storeys: the bedrooms and basement lie below the waterline.

Working closely together with the client, we managed to realize a total concept apartment.

- [Alpine Residence French Alps](https://pietboon.com/private-projects/alpine-residence-french-alps/): Studio Piet Boon was commissioned to redesign the interior of a family vacation retreat in one of the most idyllic and peaceful locations known to the French Alps. A region once known as a farmer village and now well known as a high-end ski village, famous for its typical chalets. Respecting the monumental architecture of the chalet and working closely with the client and a highly skilled local architect, we transformed the existing authentic wooden chalet into the perfect intimate family holiday home. An impeccable luxury alpine residence. By both designing new- and redefining areas yet leaving all original features intact, an effortless flow and maximization of living space was realized.

The center of the villa features an extraordinary inner courtyard decorated with palm trees. These palm trees formed the starting point for the exterior and interior design of 72 & Sunny.

- [Writers Studio](https://pietboon.com/private-projects/writers-studio/): Situated in the heart of a small Dutch town yet hidden from the eye, lies this hidden oasis. Assigned with the task to convert a former sawmill into a contemporary luxury home and workplace, we created an interior design that echoed the client’s wish for space and a calm atmosphere. The home is optically divided by a wall with wide passageways that lead to the kitchen.

- [Cubist Villa](https://pietboon.com/private-projects/cubist-villa/): Tasked with the exterior and interior design of a functional family villa, we designed this modern cube shaped home in 2006. The design incorporates various volumes that each house different living functions and follow a logical routing throughout the home. Adding to its contemporary appearance, allowing the home to blend with its natural surroundings and emphasizing the different volumes, we provided the entire façade with stucco and red cedar wallpaneling.

The building, a municipal monument from 1935 located along one of Amsterdam’s canals, is being transformed into a private residence. A unique project where heritage, contemporary living, and refined detailing come together.
- [Dutch Farmhouse](https://pietboon.com/private-projects/dutch-farmhouse/): We were given the task of restoring this listed historic farmhouse in 2012 with care and respect for local legislation. Our aim for the design was to create a contemporary home within a traditional setting. In doing so we chose to retain the traditional exterior design and completely renew the home’s interior design.

These units combine to form not only a greater building but the fabric of a neighborhood. Our interior design strives to reach across these boarders of spaces to provide a consistent design aesthetic that carries through space and time.

Drawing inspiration from the traditional French brasseries and restaurant Balthazar in New York, the interior design of the Atelier pays homage to the art of making “Frites”. In doing so we deliberately chose to steer clear from the traditional chip shop and create an environment where customers can soak up the luxury total concept design within a couple of minutes. Infusing the interior with a strong sense of authenticity.

The new residential, complex, consisting of two buildings, incorporates 248 homes, a beautifully laid out plaza between the buildings, space for catering, lifestyle and retail on the ground floor, and around 130 parking spaces in the underground parking garage.
- [Restaurant HEX](https://pietboon.com/corporate-projects/restaurant-hex/): Two years ago, chef Annemiek Wils and Studio Piet Boon created a local dining experience with global allure in Oudewater’s most beautiful building: the historic Arminiushuis (1601). Studio Piet Boon was responsible for the interior design and styling of the Arminiushuis and transformed it into the luxurious but welcoming restaurant HEX. Through the design, the studio succeeded in making a link between the present and the past. The historic elements of the Arminiushuis were taken into account here and its natural beauty was restored. In the kitchen, chef Wils takes inspiration from worldwide flavours, prepared using local products. HEX can seat 70 guests.
