Residential Property Project Boxshall Brighton

Commissioned by developer JacMax Studio Piet Boon has been tasked with the interior design to create 15 grand homes in the heart of Brighton, Australia. Inspired by the balanced Brighton lifestyle, we bring our signature Dutch design ethos to Boxshall, creating interior compositions that are authentic, ordered and modern with an understated opulence.
Individually designed floorplans are emblematic of a traditional home with dedicated areas for different functions connected through entrances, long hallways and niches. There are moments when the space is enveloping and private, and others when it opens wide to welcome gatherings, light and garden views. Through our strategic arrangements, the spaces offer flexibility to open or close depending on the mood of the day.
Our approach to the interiors always achieves functionality and character whilst keeping the senses engaged. Grand volumes are accentuated by full-height windows, doors and built- in cabinets, and the integrated shelving and niches invite artful compositions of objects. Adjacent to the vast living and dining areas, an enclosed study offers focused quiet. Kitchens balance scale and minimalism with stone islands, concealed appliances, built-in shelves and separate pantries. Master bedrooms are complete with bespoke floor-to-ceiling timber walk-in robes.
Bathrooms with opulent stone vanities place freestanding bathtubs at the center and luxurious stone showers feature integrated niches and shelves.
Each house-scaled, ground floor home fuses inside and outside for a serene connection to nature. Layouts are designed to take in natural light and beautiful gardens through long sightlines and sliding glazed doors that merge living and green spaces. The numerous verdant outlooks are framed by a palette of tactile materials including natural marble travertine and beautifully grained timber—expressed in warm tones. Walls are finished with a subtle texture that shifts atmosphere throughout the day, that is calming and minimal, yet sensuous.
