GEM. a Michelin- star restaurant in a historic setting

This two Michelin-star restaurant is housed in a monumental building, idyllically situated in a lush landscape overlooking a moat and a courtyard garden with centuries-old trees. The historic architecture blends seamlessly with the interior design by Studio Piet Boon, creating a refined balance of style and atmosphere. BL Huisvesting is responsible for the project’s development.

The restaurant spans two floors. On the ground floor, guests are welcomed through an inviting entrance leading into an atmospheric cheese and wine room. From there, the space unfolds into a central dining area that seamlessly transitions into an open kitchen theater and a chef’s table with direct views of the kitchen. Curved dining settings create an intimate and personal ambiance.

The restaurant is led by two-star Michelin chef Soenil Bahadoer, former owner of De Lindehof in Nuenen. With GEM – named after its location in Gemert and a subtle nod to the English word for ‘jewel’ – Bahadoer embarks on an exciting new chapter. The move offers him the space and elegance to take his signature cuisine to the next level, in a setting defined by history and refined comfort. GEM will become the culinary heart of the future five-star Kasteel Gemert Eindhoven, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton.
