Studio Piet Boon is an international award-winning interior, exterior and product design studio. We are a multidisciplinary team of experts with a focus on delivering turnkey homes. With our worry-free and total concept approach, we develop private residences that are functional, bespoke and timeless in design.
Since 1983, we have cultivated a global brand and identity from our base in Oostzaan, The Netherlands. Our projects cross borders and cultures: from Mediterranean villas to Dutch city sanctuaries, winter vacation homes in Aspen or the Swiss Alps to residential properties in Osaka, Japan. We work with global partners to create authentic designs that — at their core — understand our clients’ lifestyles, values and environment.

Every household is unique, just as every design is unique. Spaces are designed to be optimal for the way the future inhabitants use and occupy their space, now and in the future. By incorporating our clients’ personal artifacts, like art pieces and wine collections, in which they are passionate about, our design team is able to infuse an ambiance to perfectly reflect the individuality of each client. A balance of functionality, aesthetics and individuality
Our team of design experts seek a perfect balance between functionality, aesthetics and individuality. Every design must first and foremost function to its purpose. With our roots in craftsmanship and construction, we seamlessly blend the reason for a space into an intuitive and elegant form where shape, color and material are important factors. Our designers opt for high-quality materials like teak wood and natural stone to create durable spaces that become more beautiful with age. Using subdued colors from our in-house designed color palette in combination with ton-sur-ton layering, each space – interior to exterior – is imbued with a sense of balance and harmony. And we go beyond this. We create these beautiful solutions by incorporating another ingredient: individuality. We understand that the client is what makes each home unique. Elevate the living experience
Studio Piet Boon manages every phase of the entire design process with extreme precision and attentiveness. It’s called the total concept approach.
The design process for each project begins with a comprehensive briefing, where we take into account the daily rhythm and personal taste of the client. Then we share our design in detailed presentations to ensure our design vision and the clients’ needs come together in the overall plan. From the first sketch to the final touches, we guide the client throughout the whole process in which each request is given the utmost attention and consideration.
With this total, full-service approach, we are able to exceed our clients’ expectations and elevate living experiences to new heights.
How we work
Introduction
Our design approach for a private project consists of four phases and two optional services. The following slides give an idea of our way of working and the services we offer per phase. Each design phase includes a presentation and a revision round.
Preliminary research
Following the prepared briefing, which includes the client’s requirements and inventory of the site, a concept design is developed in the first phase.
Phase 1 Concept and architecture
During this phase, we create a concept design: the visualization of the exterior and a layout of the house.
Phase 2 Interior design
The interior is now further developed, and includes a material proposal and final floor plans with the fitted furniture.
Phase 3 Freestanding furniture
Next, the interior is finalized here by selecting the furniture, window coverings and both freestanding / decorative lighting.
Phase 4 Move in
During project completion, all freestanding furniture will be placed according to the interior design.
Optional service: aesthetic supervision
If requested, we provide supervision and review of the aesthetics and drawings from third parties. To ease any concerns that may arise during the execution of onsite work, we offer aesthetic supervision for Studio Piet Boon’s designs; and if so desired, we can participate in construction meetings.
Optional service: styling, decoration and art
We offer an advisory role in selecting art, objects and accessories so that the interior is brought to a cohesive whole.

Work in progress: Family residence, Andalusia
Family residence, Andalusia Spain Work in progress A contemporary family residence is taking shape in the hills of Andalusia, Spain. We are responsible for the full interior design of this new-build home of over 400 sqm, which spans four levels — from the basement to a rooftop deck with panoramic views. The interior concept is being developed to harmonize functionality and refinement, tailored to the family’s lifestyle.
