Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix 2024 Trophy Design
23 August 2024
The Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix is set to present the official trophies for the 2024 race. Drawing inspiration from the classic 1939 model, this year’s design continues the legacy crafted by Studio Piet Boon, who also designed the 2021 and 2023 trophies.
Return to Classic Design:
The trophy’s shape, crafted by Studio Piet Boon, preserves its historical significance, echoing the design from the early Dutch motorsport era. In addition to this, Studio Piet Boon also designed the Dutch coat of arms symbol, the ‘Lion,’ further enhancing the trophy’s connection to Dutch heritage and tradition.
Robbie Williams' contribution:
Robbie Williams, the internationally renowned pop star and avid Formula 1 fan, brings a personal graphical touch to the drivers’ trophies. Inspired by his recent Moco Museum exhibition in Amsterdam, Williams’ design explores themes of mental health and the pressures of stardom, echoing the mental challenges faced by Formula 1 drivers.
Constructors' Trophy by Marcel van Luit:
Marcel van Luit, known for his surrealistic art, has designed the Constructors’ Trophy.
His graphical design merges the natural beauty of Zandvoort with the dynamic speed of
Formula 1, featuring a modern twist on the traditional Delft Blue.
Craftsmanship by Royal Delft:
Royal Delft, renowned for its iconic Delft Blue pottery and centuries of artisanal expertise, has crafted each trophy. Their craftsmanship ensures that the intricate designs by Williams and Van Luit are brought to life with detail and elegance.
