Riverside private villa
Work in progress
One of our teams is working on the development of a private villa on a spacious plot along the river. Its waterfront location and green surroundings form the starting point for the design. The scale of the plot allows for a villa that relates naturally to the landscape and the surrounding buildings. The width of the new villa is largely equal to that of the home it replaces.
The design is defined by clear, cubic volumes with strong sightlines and an open façade facing the garden. Large glass surfaces create a fluid connection between inside and outside. Transparency, combined with varying building heights, ensures that the volume feels light rather than solid or heavy.

In terms of materiality, the design seeks a balance between modern expression and contextual sensitivity. By choosing a lighter tone, the design deliberately departs from the more traditional red brick palette, while maintaining a clear connection to its surroundings.
The entrance is executed in wood and subtly set back within the volume. Together with the overhang and refined detailing, this brings warmth and softness to the architecture. Combined with the large glass surfaces, the villa gains an open character in which robustness and refinement are carefully balanced. The result is a contemporary home that feels grounded in its setting, while remaining light, transparent, and forward-looking.
