Work in Progress: Blue Bay Villa, Curaçao
One of our teams is currently working on designing a vacation villa in Curaçao. The villa can accommodate multiple guests and includes amenities such as private pools, a palapa, and spacious outdoor areas, contributing to a luxurious and comfortable stay.
This villa features 111 m² of interior space on the ground floor and 254 m² in the basement. The outdoor areas cover 169 m², including a 40 m² pool, offering plenty of space for relaxation and entertainment.
The ground floor includes an entrance hall, utility room, toilet, kitchen, indoor living space, outdoor living and dining area, pool deck, and a palapa with an outdoor kitchen. The basement offers five spacious bedrooms with private patios, a hallway, stairs, laundry room, and storage spaces.
Our design vision combines luxury and functionality with organic shapes. The steep terrain naturally provides extra privacy and exclusivity, while the lush surroundings contribute to an idyllic and serene atmosphere. The design ensures that the villas blend seamlessly into the natural environment, making optimal use of the picturesque landscape. The use of an additional (secondary) roof and adjustable doors for natural ventilation ensures a pleasantly cool interior, even in high temperatures and frequent winds.
The chosen materials align with the island’s mandatory color palette, with a focus on local products and stone hues. Key materials include terracotta roof tiles, light brown textured stucco, locally sourced natural stone, and Red Cedar wood for doors, shutters, and frames with a matte finish. Beige tiles are used for the outdoor areas and the pool, along with glass louver windows and aluminum frames for sliding doors, finished with a finely textured, matte brown powder coating for the interior.
