Monumental canal house
Work in progress
Our team is currently designing the interior of a historic building along one of Amsterdam’s iconic canals. Built in 1935 and designated as a municipal monument, this unique residence brings together heritage, contemporary living, and refined detailing.
The design bridges past and present. In close collaboration with technical and heritage specialists, original elements such as the façade and staircase are being carefully restored.
Spanning approximately 500 m² over four and a half floors, the building offers generous living space. The upper levels house the main living areas: a living room, expansive kitchen and dining space, a spacious primary suite with bathroom and walk-in closet, and multiple guest rooms with ensuite facilities. On the ground floor, there’s a private indoor parking, gym, and wellness area. At the top, a rooftop terrace of around 75 m² completes the home.
The interior unfolds in a calm transition from dark to light tones. Original features serve as subtle references throughout the design: exposed timber beams remain visible, and wood-clad walls add warmth to selected spaces. The primary rooms will feature custom-designed furniture, crafted woodwork, and natural stone.
The project is currently in the early design phase. Stay tuned for updates.
