Golf Club The International Amsterdam
Studio Piet Boon was tasked with the interior design of “The International”, a championship golf course designed by top golfer Ian Woosnam.
Our interior design concept for The International was based on the idea of a ‘Gentlemen’s Club’. A concept that is best described as ‘modern, minimalistic and timeless – with a touch of fun’. In creating a balanced color palette and overall look and feel, we opted to use the same stone in different finishing’s for both the exterior walls and the flooring of the interior.
We were able to create the desired homely atmosphere with the natural materials used, the herringbone floor, tin ceiling wallpaper and by carefully selecting and arranging design furniture throughout all the spaces of the club house. All the interior layouts were designed to enjoy the beautiful exterior. In addition to selecting and sourcing furniture; we also created bespoke accessories and hand-picked several artworks including the breathtaking, rust-colored Coffeepot by Dutch artist Klaas Gubbels (1934), and the eye-catching Gold Torso by Dutch sculptress Judith Wiersema (1968).
