A unique view from this private house located in the mountains of Aspen

Studio Piet Boon was invited to create the interior design for a newly constructed three-story residential home and guest house in the mountains of Aspen, Colorado. The architecture is by an Aspen firm, Zone4, and the on-site construction team, Hansen Construction, visits the location frequently. They shared these amazing pictures with our design team. The on-site team sends weekly progress updates and points of interest to the architect and to us.
Our scope for this project is the interior and styling. The interior design for this almost 1,000 m2 residence takes its inspiration from the beauty of its natural surroundings and the local architecture. Understanding the architecture’s deep relationship to the nature around it, our interior design and styling work to complement this bond. With a horizontal focus and large windows, the interior emphasizes quiet practicality, allowing the true beauty of nature to be the focus. Art objects and finishes subtly evoke the colors of the seasons and present a sophisticated family home.
