A contemporary and luxury take on a traditional New York townhouse. Our design approach for interior design of this historical townhouse was to marry interior and art, to highlight, celebrate and honor the exquisite artworks of the homeowner. At the same time we were tasked with creating a warm family and versatile home, which can be transformed into elegant and sophisticated spaces accordingly for large dinner parties.
Our client was very much interested in maintaining a clean and bright contemporary interior as well as restoring the classical moldings in the historic townhouse. A contrast we enjoyed playing with in layout, furniture selection, (bespoke) interior millwork, color scheme, material combinations and integrating the client’s beautiful art collection.
In response to the client's wishes, we created design solutions that strengthened the overall experience and laid emphasis on the art pieces, bespoke detailing and high quality finishing’s. Respecting the traditional and rich heritage of the building –by even adding more richness- and providing the interior with a very light yet warm grey/white ton-sur-ton color scheme, perfectly complements the integrated art and contemporary elements on the different floors.
At Studio Piet Boon we always put tireless effort into getting to know our clients. It allows us to deliver the most relevant designs and exceed expectations. As we delve into the wishes and the purpose of a project, each Studio Piet Boon design is tailor made.
