Studio Piet Boon collaborated closely with the client to develop a new interior concept for a stately, five-story town house renovation. The property will be fully stripped down and rebuilt while maintaining the classic façade and merging the upper and lower apartments into a single contemporary family home. The interior has been designed as an inviting gathering space that still offers plenty of privacy to give everyone in the family a space for retreat. The goal: creating a cohesive home experience that meets the needs of modern life.
The new stairwell is a key element of the design, linking all five stories in one fluid motion. The undulating handrail highlights that sense of connection.
The semi-basement overlooks the garden and will be transformed into a primary suite, complete with walk-in closet and home gym. Each bedroom will have its own en suite bathroom, so everyone can enjoy a tranquil start and end to each day.
The island will be the centerpiece of the kitchen and a warm, inviting gathering place. The second floor will offer a place for the whole family to spend time together in the spacious seating area.
The entire home will feature a light, warm color palette, and the diverse materials complement and enhance each other. The steel sliding doors are a light grey, with furnishings and flooring in light oak.
Niches will be carved throughout the town house as art showcases. The hallways and kitchen will feature beautiful marble detailing.
