Amsterdam Villa

As the clients spend a lot of time in the kitchen we opted to place it together with the dining area at the center of the home on the ground floor. We then placed the remaining ground floor areas in a natural sequence where you would flow from the dining into the living and then into an office and the master bedroom with a bathroom ensuite. Accommodating the other requirements we designed two separate basements. One basement serving as wine cellar whilst the other served as a play-, fitness- and technical room. Pure authentic and natural materials were used for the flooring and wall finishings, together with the soft use of color creating the base of the house. To create more sense of space we created oversized fireplaces throughout the home.

In extending the home's interior we created various seating possiblities that allowed the homeowners to enjoy the same level of living comfort outdoors. The large porch with outdoor fireplace is such an example. All doors on the ground floor are connected to the gardens designed by world renowned landscape architect Piet Oudolf. As an addition to the home we designed a detached guesthouse with a covered porch and hottub in line with the main building on the opposite side of the natural swimming pool.
